Data Protection Overview for Schools and Teachers

BizEdMadeSimple is designed to keep student data simple, limited and school-managed.

School-managed accounts

For school accounts, Ecmtutors LTD creates student accounts centrally using only the information needed to provide access and progress tracking.

For school-managed accounts, this usually includes:

• student first name
• school name
• class or year group
• a teacher-chosen code or letters to help the school identify the student

Student email addresses are optional. Many schools choose not to provide them.

The school or teacher distributes usernames and passwords to students. Students do not create their own school accounts.

Teacher dashboard

Teachers can use the dashboard to view progress, course completion and quiz performance for their own authorised classes or groups.

This helps teachers monitor engagement and identify where students may need extra support.

Optional AI tools

AI-powered learning tools are optional and are turned off by default for school accounts.

They are only enabled if the school requests or agrees to their use.

Students can complete the platform without using AI.

AI tools are not used for grading, profiling or automated decisions.

Video, analytics and hosting

Course videos are hosted through Vimeo.

Google Analytics may be used on the public website, but is not active on logged-in school or student course pages.

The website is hosted by SiteGround on its London data centre.

Controller and processor roles

For school-managed accounts, the school acts as the data controller and Ecmtutors LTD acts as data processor.

Retention and deletion

School-managed student data is deleted when the school agreement ends, unless the school renews, requests earlier deletion, or a different arrangement is agreed.
