What BizEdMadeSimple does
BizEdMadeSimple is an online Business Studies learning platform.
The platform may include:
• courses
• video lessons
• quizzes
• learning resources
• teacher dashboards
• progress tracking
• revision materials
• optional AI-powered learning tools, where enabled
BizEdMadeSimple is designed mainly for secondary Business Studies learners, schools, teachers and individual learners.
BizEdMadeSimple may be used by schools, teachers and learners in different countries. Schools are responsible for ensuring that their use of BizEdMadeSimple is appropriate under their own local laws, policies and student data protection requirements.
Two separate access routes
BizEdMadeSimple has two separate access routes:
• school-managed access
• individual access
These routes are different and are treated separately in this Privacy Statement.
School-managed access is arranged through a school, teacher or educational institution.
Individual access is arranged directly with Ecmtutors LTD, usually through a parent or guardian where the learner is under 18.
Public registration is not available on the website.
Users cannot create their own accounts directly on the website.
Payments are not taken through the website.
There is no website checkout or website payment option.
Controller and processor roles
For school-managed accounts, the school or educational institution acts as the data controller and Ecmtutors LTD acts as data processor, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
This means the school decides which students are given access, why the platform is used, and how it fits into teaching and learning.
Ecmtutors LTD processes limited student account and learning data on behalf of the school to provide the platform.
For individual access, website enquiries, contact forms and direct communication, Ecmtutors LTD acts as the data controller.
School-managed accounts
School-managed accounts are created manually by Ecmtutors LTD after a school or teacher provides the information needed to create the accounts.
Students do not create their own school accounts.
Students do not buy access through the website.
Students do not provide payment details through the platform.
The school or teacher distributes login details to students.
Students using school-managed accounts should contact their teacher first if they need account support.
Student data collected for school-managed accounts
For school-managed accounts, BizEdMadeSimple collects the minimum information needed to create accounts and provide learning access.
This normally includes:
• student first name
• class or year group
• school name
• teacher name
• teacher email address
• a teacher-chosen distinguishing code or letters to help the school identify the student
The distinguishing code or letters are chosen by the school or teacher. They do not need to be a surname and are intended only to help the teacher manage the class.
Student email addresses are not collected by default.
Where student email addresses are not provided, internal or placeholder email addresses may be used for technical account creation.
Student email addresses are only used if a school chooses to provide them.
Student data not required for school-managed accounts
For school-managed accounts, BizEdMadeSimple does not require schools to provide:
• full student names
• full surnames
• dates of birth
• home addresses
• student phone numbers
• parent or guardian details
• payment details
• medical information
• behaviour records
• safeguarding records
• photographs
The school retains the information needed to identify and manage its own students. BizEdMadeSimple only holds the limited account information needed to operate the platform.
Teacher dashboard and learning data
For school-managed accounts, authorised teachers may be able to view learning data for their own groups or classes.
This may include:
• course completion
• lesson completion
• quiz scores
• time taken on quizzes
• date of quiz attempt
• progress through assigned content
Teachers can only view the groups or classes they are authorised to manage.
This information is used to support teaching, progress monitoring and learning support.
Individual access
Individual access is separate from school-managed access.
Individual access is arranged manually with Ecmtutors LTD.
Individual users cannot currently purchase access through the website.
For individual access, Ecmtutors LTD normally collects:
• first name
• email address
• access information
• communication records
• learning progress and quiz data
Ecmtutors LTD does not deliberately collect age or surname for individual access, although a person may include additional information when contacting us.
Where an individual learner is under 18, access must be arranged by or with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Individual learners under 18 cannot arrange paid access independently.
Individual access is not available for children under 14.
Payments
Payments are not taken through the BizEdMadeSimple website.
There is no checkout or payment option on the website.
School payments are handled outside the website, for example by invoice, bank transfer or another agreed payment method.
Individual payments are also handled outside the website, for example by invoice or payment link.
Stripe or another payment provider may be used for off-site invoices or payment links, but no student payment data is processed through the BizEdMadeSimple platform.
Ecmtutors LTD does not store full payment card details.
Payment and accounting records are kept outside the website as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes.
Optional AI-powered learning tools
BizEdMadeSimple may offer AI-powered learning tools.
For school-managed accounts, AI tools are turned off by default.
AI tools are only enabled for school users if the school requests or agrees to their use.
The platform can be completed without AI tools.
AI tools are not used for grading, formal assessment, teacher decisions, profiling, automated decision-making or determining student outcomes.
Where AI is enabled, OpenAI is currently used as the AI provider.
When a user types a message into an AI tool, the message text may be transmitted to OpenAI solely to generate a response.
BizEdMadeSimple does not store or maintain records of individual AI conversations.
AI prompts are not visible to teachers.
AI prompts are not visible to Ecmtutors LTD in normal platform use.
Students are warned not to enter personal, private or sensitive information into AI tools.
Usage information or usage counts may be processed by OpenAI or within technical systems for operational, billing, security or fair-use purposes.
Functional cookies or local storage may be used to support optional AI tool functionality, such as message counts, display status, usage limits or chat session status. These do not store the content of individual AI conversations.
Website analytics
BizEdMadeSimple uses Google Analytics on the public website to understand how visitors use the site and to improve the platform.
Google Analytics is not active for logged-in school or student course pages.
Google Analytics is not used for advertising profiling.
BizEdMadeSimple does not use Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads tracking or advertising cookies.
Cookie choices can be managed through the website cookie banner.

Video hosting
Course videos are primarily hosted using Vimeo.
Vimeo playback is domain-restricted to authorised BizEdMadeSimple website domains where possible.
Vimeo downloads and comments are disabled.
Vimeo may process technical or viewing-related information in accordance with its own privacy terms.
Some public pages may include YouTube embeds or links. Where YouTube is embedded, YouTube may process technical and viewing-related information in accordance with its own privacy terms.
Contact forms and communication
When you contact BizEdMadeSimple by email or website form, we may collect the information you provide.
This may include:

• email address
• school name, where provided
• message content
• enquiry details
Contact form submissions may be stored in WordPress and emailed to Ecmtutors LTD.
Contact form enquiries are normally kept for up to 12 months unless they relate to an active enquiry, support issue, school relationship, individual access arrangement, legal obligation, accounting matter or dispute, in which case they may be kept for as long as necessary.

When people use the website, we may process limited technical information such as:

Legal basis for processing
For school-managed accounts:
The school is the data controller and is responsible for identifying its lawful basis for using BizEdMadeSimple with its students.
Ecmtutors LTD processes school-managed student data as processor, on the school’s instructions, to provide the platform.
For individual access:
Ecmtutors LTD processes personal data where necessary to arrange and provide access requested by the individual learner, parent or guardian.
For enquiries and contact forms:
Ecmtutors LTD processes personal data to respond to enquiries and manage communication.
For security and platform operation:
Ecmtutors LTD may process limited technical information where necessary for legitimate interests, including security, troubleshooting, service improvement and prevention of misuse.
For legal, tax and accounting purposes:
Ecmtutors LTD may process and retain certain information where required by law.
For optional cookies or analytics where consent is required:
Ecmtutors LTD relies on consent where legally required.
Third-party providers
BizEdMadeSimple uses trusted third-party providers to operate the website and platform.

Stripe may be used for off-site payment links or invoices, but payments are not taken through the BizEdMadeSimple website and no student payment data is processed through the platform.
We do not sell personal data.
International transfers and data location
BizEdMadeSimple is operated by Ecmtutors LTD in the United Kingdom.
The website is hosted by SiteGround on its London data centre.
Some third-party providers may process data outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area.
Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards may be used where required, including adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or equivalent legal mechanisms.
For school-managed accounts, the main platform data is hosted through SiteGround in London. OpenAI is only used where AI tools are enabled by request, Google Analytics is not active for logged-in school or student course pages, and no payment data is processed through the BizEdMadeSimple platform.
Data retention and deletion
BizEdMadeSimple keeps personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
For school-managed accounts:
School-managed student data is deleted when the school agreement ends, unless the school renews, requests earlier deletion, or a different retention period is agreed.
Schools may request deletion of school-managed data at any time.
School onboarding spreadsheets are deleted after accounts have been created and checked, normally within 30 days.
For individual accounts:
Individual users may request deletion of their account.
Where an account is deleted, associated platform account data is removed or anonymised where technically possible, subject to backups, legal obligations and necessary administrative records.
For contact forms and enquiries:
Contact form enquiries are normally kept for up to 12 months unless they relate to an active enquiry, support issue, school relationship, individual access arrangement, legal obligation, accounting matter or dispute, in which case they may be kept for as long as necessary.
For payment and accounting records:
Payment and accounting records are kept outside the website for as long as required by applicable legal, tax and accounting obligations.
For AI conversations:
BizEdMadeSimple does not store or maintain individual AI conversation records.
Children and young people
BizEdMadeSimple is intended for secondary Business Studies learners, normally aged 14 and above.
For school-managed accounts, the school is responsible for ensuring that it has the necessary lawful basis, authority and permissions to provide access to its students.
Students do not self-register for school-managed accounts.
Students do not buy access through the website.
Students do not provide payment details through the platform.
Individual access is not available to children under 14.
Where an individual learner is under 18, access must be arranged by or with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Individual learners under 18 cannot arrange paid access independently.
Data security
BizEdMadeSimple uses technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data and reduce risk.
These include:
• public registration is disabled
• accounts are created manually by the administrator
• school student data is minimised
• school student email addresses are not collected by default
• school students cannot reset their own passwords
• school students cannot change their own email addresses
• school students cannot contact Ecmtutors LTD inside the platform
• teachers only see their own authorised groups or classes
• WordPress administrator access is restricted
• HTTPS/SSL is active
• security plugins are active
• hosting security is provided by SiteGround
• account access is password protected
• school onboarding spreadsheets are deleted after accounts have been created and checked, normally within 30 days
• data can be deleted when a school agreement ends or on school request
No online service can guarantee absolute security, but BizEdMadeSimple aims to reduce risk through data minimisation, restricted access and responsible platform management.
Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws, including UK GDPR, EU GDPR and other local privacy laws.
These may include:
• the right to access your personal data

• the right to request deletion
• the right to restrict certain processing

Students and parents should normally contact the school first, because the school manages the account and is the data controller.
The school can then ask Ecmtutors LTD to correct, delete, export or restrict school-managed data where appropriate.

Data Processing Agreement for schools
A school Data Processing Agreement is available to schools and educational institutions before access is provided.
The agreement is designed to support GDPR-style school data protection requirements and sets out the data processing relationship between the school and Ecmtutors LTD, including the purpose of processing, categories of data, security measures, subprocessors, retention and deletion arrangements, and the responsibilities of each party.
Schools may request and review the Data Processing Agreement before any student accounts are created.
